Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The hotel does offer free coffee in the lobby every morning. The bar /restaurant is very characterful, and every night it was busy. We did eat twice, in the restaurant, and the food was very good. Location is excellent, we are 1 minute walk from Grand Central Station, 4-5 mins walk from Bryant park and NYC library, 10-15 mins walk from Macy’s and Empire State Building, and around 20-30 mins from Plaza hotel/ Trump tower/ Central Park, but this depends on traffic and number of people walking. There are plenty of bars / restaurants nearby, and near Bryant park, there are some lovely cafe’s. The hotel road is quiet.

Negative: Our room, whilst big and roomy, lacked a wardrobe and storage, and the bathroom lacked sufficient facilities to dry/ hand wet towels. The shower temperature was also very difficult to control, and we had to ask for sufficient towels for the room on three occasions. The carpet in the room looked very worn.

Summary: Great location, friendly staff, room needs an upgrade.
