You don't need a taxi from the airport because the S-Bahn takes you to Monte Mario via Trastevere for less than โฌ 10 pp. The district is untouristic, the people are warm and the prices are low. There are many shops, the daily 'weekly market' and some good, reasonably priced bars. Everything is within walking distance. The connection to the Vatican and the historical center of Rome is excellent. From the S-Bahn station you can quickly get to the Vatican with 5 stops or a few more stops to the city center to the 'Termini' station. It is more enjoyable if you take one of the four bus lines that go to the city center every 10 minutes. Travel time to the Tiber about 20 minutes. The buses also run at night. The most recommended bus is line 913 - the fastest route to Via del Corso in the center.
