3 Bedroom House in Knightstown, Valentia Island
Our house is tucked away within Knightstown village, a great location at the end of a 'cul de sac' it has a partial view of the sea and is meters from the lovely Valentia Harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants. There is a small south facing courtyard garden with picnic table and shed (some garden chairs and barbecue, welcome to store your things here).
It is a contemporary end of terrace house with oil fired central heating and a wood burning stove, large comfortable beds and quality furnishings.
The house is heated/aired throughout winter (central heating) so winter guests will have comfort of knowing that they will arrive to a warm and cosy home. All beds have electric blankets, with extra bedding available if needed.
Valentia is a fantastic base for touring the Ring of Kerry, visiting the famous Skellig Islands, exploring the Wild Atlantic Way or finding some of the lesser known gems that the area has to offer, we love exploring places off the ring on foot or by bike.
There are excellent golf courses nearby including Dooks, Waterville links, Beaufort, Killarney as well as plenty of fishing opportunities locally either from shore or with one of the many local fishermen. Knightstown harbour has a great water sports centre offering kayaking, sailing courses and scuba diving for experienced divers. Tennis court located at the nearby local playground.
There is some great horse riding nearby either for the novice or proper rider's rides galloping along the beach, or perhaps just sitting back and enjoying a quieter pace of life.
Built as a four bedroom house, we furnished it as our home and use it as a large two bedroom house with a study (and futon). Because it was our home it is furnished to a high standard and the kitchen in particular is very well equipped. It comfortably sleeps 4 adults.
Bedroom 1 is a large sunny room with extra large double (6ft/180cm) bed.
Bedroom 2 has a large double (5ft/160cm) bed with private ensuite shower and wc.
Study/bedroom 3 downstairs has a large office desk, office chair and a double futon.
All beds are good quality with 100% cotton bedding, non allergenic pillows and duvets and electric blankets.
Upstairs bedrooms have black out blinds.
There is a newly refurbished family bathroom (double sink, large bath, power shower, wc, underfloor heating), an ensuite (shower, sink wc) and separate wc downstairs.
The house has a light and spacious kitchen diner, including dishwasher, ceramic hob, grill/oven, fridge freezer, equipment including food processor, juicer, hand blenders, sharp cooking knives, selection of quality cast iron & stainless steel pots and pans, plenty of utensils.

The separate living/tv room has a wood burning stove for cosy evenings. The tv offers Irish and UK free satellite channels, there is a dvd player and a small selection of dvds. We have installed broadband internet no extra cost to you) and Neflix users can use the smart tv to view their favourite programmes.
The house has a washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes horse, steam iron and ironing board.
We love that we can pop to local restaurants, by ferry to the Point or into the village and walk home, we tend to park the car when we arrive and leave it there. Taking sundowners at the nearby beach or marina (literally bottom of the road) is highly recommended.
Thereโs a water sports centre (summer camp for kids, canoeing, etc) within 100 meters.
Ask locally (tourist office are really helpful) about excursions for example taking a boat to go dolphin spotting or hire a local boat owner to drop you to the uninhabited Beginish island across the harbour for the day, consider chartering one of the local fishing boats to take you out fishing for the day.
