Positive: This vacation rental was fully equipped with everything you need, and we have stayed at A LOT (150+) of vacation rentals over the years. The kitchen had everything--plenty of dishes and glasses, good pots and pans, oven mitts, casserole dishes, and even a juicer and a food processor! Plus, the decor was lovely and the back porch was refreshing in the mid-afternoon with the sun shining down while I was reading a book. Everything was great! I would completely recommend staying here. I also liked that not all of the decor was from IKEA (some was), but there were also many other elements and decor items that made the stay feel less cookie cutter compared to other places (pretty, modern wallpaper in the master closet, a mirror with touch lighting and a magnifying area for make-up application, automatic blinds to shut out the light in the bathrooms, etc.) The bed was super comfortable too! Oh, and there were hair dryers, and some shampoos/body washes available for use too. They really know how to set up a vacation property!
Negative: One thing we noticed--which is not uncommon in Portugal--is that there was a slight to moderate sewer smell from two of the bathrooms. We just kept the door closed when we were not using them and it seriously was not an issue for us. Also, if you have someone with limited mobility, there are stairs to got to the various levels within the home. This didn't bother us, but I could see where it would be a problem with someone who has difficulty navigating stairs. Finally, the neighborhood is a bit congested, but the rental has a little garage to pull our car into, which was nice to have. These things are more FYI than they are "stay away" issues. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again 100%! I loved being in a place that felt like a well-equipped home versus a cold, generic rental. :)
