Geltsdale was built as a private house for the Mayor of Carlisle in 1904 in the village of Wetheral which is recognised as an unspoilt beauty spot. The village is built above the banks of the River Eden around a picturesque village green. There are several amenities including a 4* hotel, leisure club, restaurant, church, village shop, bowling green and cricket field. With its beautiful views over the Eden Valley, riverside walks and the Lake District, Scottish Borders and Hadrian's Wall all within a half hour drive, Wetheral is an excellent holiday location. Geltsdale is in a tranquil setting surrounded by several acres of garden and woodland and enjoys views over the grounds and River Eden to the Castle Carrock Fells.
The historic city of Carlisle is a 10 minute drive with a wealth of activities and attractions for the whole family to enjoy, along with the Lanes Shopping Centre with all your favourite high street shops.
