The bothy is in an isolated area and doesnโt have mains water. The tap water can be brown due to peat in the hills above. The tap water is safe but weโll supply you with drinking water.
There is 4G reception but no reliable internet or wifi at our location.
This is a very peaceful location and not suited to party weekends.

The bothy is on the banks of Loch Riddon. We are about a mile down a secluded track which is signposted for โOrmidale Lodgeโ on the A8003 (NB Ormidale House is a different property which you will pass on the way). You can drive over the Rest and Be Thankful road and take the turn for Tighnabruaich just before you reach Cairndow, or you can take the Western Ferries boat from McInroyโs Point in Gourock. You can even reach us by public transport by taking the train to Gourock, the CalMac foot ferry to Dunoon and the West Coast Motors bus 478 to the end of our track.
