Positive: We really enjoyed our stay, the apartment is excellent as in the pictures, very spacious, tidy, fully equipped. We felt at home right away. There are 3 separate bedrooms (one was locked as there were only 2 of us) and 2 bathrooms. Carlos was very enthusiastic and accommodating, made sure we had everything we needed and acted promptly whenever we had a request. We loved the location, it's not near the center (about 45 min flat walking) but it's near the promenade and in a pleasant environment. There's a shopping center with a large supermarket 5 minutes from the apartment. Buses stop right in front of the house, including the airport bus and buses 1 and 2 that take you to the center in 10 minutes. We spent a month in Madeira without a car, took buses everywhere and didn't feel like we needed a car, but there's also a garage. Carlos provided extras like rechargeable bus passes and even a pool pass. Cleaning was provided in the middle of our stay. The internet signal works well in the living room and kitchen (but doesn't really reach the bedrooms).
Negative: The amount of text messages we received from the host throughout our stay. We truly appreciate the host's intent, friendliness and warmth, but we found it a tad excessive to receive a text every other day :).
