Summary: When paying a premium price at a luxury, 5-star resort, you have certain expectations and standards to uphold. My room was infested with gnats and ants — not just a few, enough to make it feel like I was camping, not staying at an upscale resort. To make matters worse, the entire room reeked of sewage and feces. The smell was overwhelming and completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that advertises itself as high-end. No amount of amenities or pretty scenery can make up for the fact that the basic standards of cleanliness and comfort were completely ignored. I brought these issues to the staff’s attention, but the response was underwhelming at best. I was greatly disappointed.
