Summary: I can only assume the recent 10/10 reviews for this hotel were either paid for or there’s a separate wing of the hotel which has been pulled back out of the 1980s. Our room was big, but it was so tired and outdated we felt like we were in a $10 a night American roadside motel. The switches were yellowed from age, the bathroom was dirty (hairs in the shower), the hairdryer didn’t work and that’s just a selection of the issues. The reception staff weren’t very friendly and didn’t point out where any of the amenities were when we checked in. It’s right next to a train line, so if you’re in the back of the hotel it’s pretty noisy with trains running every 15mins or so throughout the day. It did seem quieter at night but the rumbling of trains was definitely still there. They clearly focus on weddings, so I can only assume the areas for that have been modernised and they do perhaps have newer rooms they reserve for wedding parties. The rest of the hotel is in a sorry state, I would recommend looking for somewhere else to spend your hard earned money than this place.
