Summary: Wonderful hotel but extremely loud. Could clearly hear construction on the eighteenth floor. Additionally there were younger guests who woke me up at two in the morning with loud antics and much yelling. Could hear every little thing outside the door. Even the housekeeping scooping ice. As someone who frequents five star hotels this was a huge disappointment. You don’t that feeling of your room being a quiet oasis. It’s like a sound box and you’re stuck in it. Shangri la may be deteriorating and aged but it’s quiet and the food is oddly better. I’ll probably stay here again due to its location but I will request a quiet room and if it’s loud again I shall absolutely find an alternative and not look back.
