The master bedroom has a super comfortable double bed with fresh hotel-quality linens. There’s also ample storage and wardrobe space so you can fully unpack and settle in. In the second bedroom, meanwhile, you’ll find a double bed, which is also fitted with superior-standard linens to ensure you enjoy a great night’s sleep. In the mornings, when you want to freshen up, just head through to the two well-appointed bathrooms, where you can either enjoy a relaxing soak in the tub or an energising shower. For some high culture, visit the Basilica of Santa Maria and marvel at one of Rome’s oldest purpose-built Christian churches, with parts of the building dating back to 340 AD. For a walk and a sit in a beautiful green space, take the time to enjoy the Orto Botanico (Rome’s beautiful botanical gardens), with its bamboo grove, Japanese garden and cacti greenhouse. The intriguing Porta Portese Market is a delightful local flea market with an array of interesting and artistic souvenirs to buy, but be sure to visit before 2pm as the market is only open in the first half of the day. For a delicious lunchtime meal, try Da Lucia on Vicolo del Mattonato for a great traditional Italian daytime light meal of pasta while sitting on one of the outdoor tables. After lunch, why not enjoy a cone of ice cream (try the cinnamon flavor) from the delightful Gelateria alla Scala. For a sit down dinner in the evening, Trastevere is brimming with great restaurants. Head to Antica Trattoria Da Carlone for some of the best traditional pasta in Rome, but be sure to book a table as it gets very busy in the evenings. At the other end of the expense scale is Pizzeria Ai Marmi, a delightful traditional pizzeria that serves traditional thin crust Roman pizzas on long marble tables to hungry locals. Meanwhile, Checco er Carrettiere is a wonderful traditional Roman restaurant situated by the Ponte Sisto bridge that serves delicious pasta dishes for a reasonable price. When it comes to finding the perfect place for an aperitivo or late night drink, try Enoteca Ferrara for their enormous wine list and knowledgeable staff. The mainly Italian wine isn’t cheap but you are paying for some serious quality. If you’re looking for somewhere that isn’t just a chic wine bar, then head to Big Star, which is a rock pub that plays classic rock staples, hosts live bands and is a favorite of the young local crowd. For beer lovers, Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà is perhaps Rome’s best beer bar, with at least a dozen excellent craft beers on tap at any time and a friendly, no-frills atmosphere. ##Transit 1h 2 minutes from public transport to Leonardo Da Vinci Airport. 30 minutes to Termini Station by public transport.
